Tax Preparation Services

Introduction

DCP offers free tax preparation through a partnership with AARP Tax Aide and Eastern Maine CA$H (Creating Assets, Savings and Hope). Our volunteers and staff are trained annually, and must pass an IRS certification test to participate in the program. DCP hosts two sites in Hancock and Washington counties, and supports several other sites in Hancock County.

Earned Income Tax Credit

Earned Income Tax Credit is available to eligible tax payers who worked during the previous tax year. This benefit is largely unclaimed in eastern Maine. You need to file an income tax return to get this tax credit.

Tax Preparation offered through appointments from DCP

Tax preparation is available at the following sites:

DCP's Bucksport Road Office
Mano en Mano, Maple street Milbridge

Appointments maybe made starting in mid-January, with the first appointments occurring in February.
