The MaineHousing Eviction Prevention Program (EPP) began taking applications at 10 AM today, October 21, 2024. The EPP, overseen by MaineHousing, is a pilot program for 2024-2026 that will pay rent for qualified Maine tenants for up to 12 months.
Program eligibility is based on income and rent costs, and priority will be given to tenants who have one of the following:
- A written eviction notice, or "Notice to Quit," for nonpayment of rent
- A late notice
- A current approved payment agreement with their landlord
Application for the EPP may be completed online, or by phone call to Quality Housing Coalition, Inc. at (207) 274-1240.
